Yuan Izakaya Restaurant

The price stated above haven't practised yet.
Currently, the price for lunch & dinner are the same RM39+ (BBQ & steamboat)
* Limited 2 hours for dinner buffet (not apply for lunch buffet) *

After read the "food review invitation" by the professional food blogger cklam :) from what2see,
it's actually tempting me to go and have a try.
I'm sure many others feel the same too.

Finally i went for lunch last saturday.
Just in case to avoid fully booked, i called for reservation few days ago.

Surprisingly, the moment i stepped into the doorstep around 12.20pm.
Only three tables are reserved. Really shocked you see?
I thinked i know the reason why.

It's located beside Oldtown New World Park.

They'd a mini stone garden beside their entrance... a nice and cozy ambiance!

The area of desserts - different kind of cakes are ready here!
p/s: I still didn't have chance to taste on it, they already wrapped it on.
no further comments on the cakes.

The Menu
Makes me feel like TAO. Seriously, I would still prefer TAO if with kind of food and price.

Random of BBQ stuff

Random of steamboat stuff
For the soup, your choice of either clear soup or tomyam soup.

Tempura
Not as crunchy as i thought, too much of flour covering all up the taste.

Scallop

Unagi
Grilled it! Niceee!!

Those dishes there basically just fine for me.
Not really outstanding and don't really impressed me.
Time taken for food serving is quite slow though.

Your homemade Brew coffee?

Your choice of coffee

Your choices of juices and soft drinks.

Goshhh, i don't have any good comment on this?
hmm, a nice place for gathering maybe.
You can pay a visit and judge it yourself :)

Oh ya, the ice cream is GOOD!

Ice Kacang @ Swatow Lane, New World Park

Few Years ago, this ice kacang stall was selling at Swatow Lane. Now, it had permanently move into New World Park. I'm kinda miss the moments at Swatow Lane where a row of stalls beside those houses. Eventhough it's not as neat as NWP, not as classy as NWP, but it's definately much crowded than it.

Here's the Normal Ice Kacang cost RM2.00
(Add on a scoop of ice cream RM0.50 if you want to)
The shaved ice consists of corns, red beans, atapchi, grass jelly and syrup.

It had been crowned as the BEST Penang Ice Kacang once before. Too bad the quality has inconsistently drop now. It seems to be very normal now. For my last visit few weeks ago, its taste too sweet for me. Anyhow, it's a good idea to have a bowl of ice kacang during hot weather.

Another famous stall. It sells quite a lot of side dishes which is consider quite delicious among all.

Pai Tee Cup
Would prefer a lil vegetables on it, Will show you how's my mum's Huang Ma Ma soon :) Love!

Chee Cheong Fun (Small RM1.80; Big RM2.70)
This is okay! The Best is at Genting Coffee Shop, Jalan Delima Greenlane

Yam Cake (1piece for RM2.00)
Hahahaha again, i still love my mum's! :P
With not just purely made of yam, but with shrimp and slieces of red chilis on it.
Of course, it cost much higher with this ingredients. Thus, mostly hawker won't do this as it's obviously decrease their profits.

Starview Restaurant 仙境楼, New World Park

Starview, the name which famous with non other than Chinese Cuisine. I would say the best on Penang! Basically people went there for wedding dinner but there are lunch and dinner available. It's located along Burmah Road few years back. Now, they had move to New World Park with more stylish concept. If you prefer to go at night or in a big group, it's better make reservation to avoid fully book. As if they are serving wedding dinner at downstairs, only limited spaces at upstairs. Anyway, they always fully book especially weekend.

Each of the dishes has a very nice, f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s idoism chinese name XD But i just can't even remember a single word from the menu. Hahahaha!

Braised Sea Cucumber served with cauliflower

Roasted Pei Pa (Lute) Duck served with special sauce *slurp*
You get to taste on very crispy duck skin at here.
They do have roasted piglet skin *Must Try* which is very BEST too!

Braised Chicken with XO sauce

Salad Prawn *Must Try*
I like this the most!!! The prawn is big, juicy and crispy!

Brilliant way of cooking - Bean Curd *Must try*
Bean curd is soft seems to be very normal. But they cooked with egg and some crispy stuff. Taste differently in every bite

Blended HoneyDew with one scoop of vanila *Best!!*

The services provided at normal dining time is good! :D The operator sounds very friendly though. Inversely, the service seems to be bad during wedding dining, maybe they're too busy? lol...

Don't hesitate to ask the waitress/waiter to recommend their famous dishes. They would be generous enough to help you. Anyway, you may request for private room if you order 8 course meal for dinner/lunch. No complaints for their foods! Quality wise maintain for every of the dishes... :) I'm just lovin it!

Mizi Bistro, New World Park

Mizi Bistro - A Perfect Dining Symphony

Went Mizi for lunch and dinner quite numbers of times. Its Mushroom Soup is a MUST TRY! It's thick and creamy. The best mushroom soup so far in Penang :) Even the quality now had been not as great as past few years, still it taste okay for me. While for pumpkin soup, i will prefer Salsas's at upper penang road.
Mizi Bistro has the same menu for lunch and dinner. As for now, you can get RM21.50+ for set meal for all including your choice of drink, soup with bread, main course and bottomless ice-cream. Yummy!! It's just worth of money!!!!
Make sure you make reservation before you go to avoid dissapointment. The place is small and always packed with people. I would suggest you go during weekdays. Somehow you really have to see the mood of the chef, the taste is inconsistently different from days to days.

The Menu For the Day

Your Choice of Drink

CHICKEN MARYLAND MIZI STYLE (This is just too dry for me, I will prefer it served together with vegetables as well)

CHICKEN NORMADY
Oven-roasted apple filled chicken breast

LONDON FISH & CHIPS (I thinked they don't have fries & replaced with steamed potatoes, not bad actually)

OUR HOUSE RULES ORGANIC SALAD

FILLET OF FISH LADY ASTOR
Pan-fried, topped with pineapple and glazed with horseradish cream sauce

CHICKEN PICCATA
Fried dipped cheese and egg with Chicken breast accompanied with pasta and scented with rosemary jus

CHICKEN CHOP & BLACK PEPPER (Lunch)

CHICKEN CHOP & BLACK PEPPER (Dinner) *Recommended*
Juicy deep fried chicken with their very own pepper sauce

HUNGARIAN CHICKEN GOULASH (Just randomly ordered from menu, dissapointed with the taste actually, would prefer it served with rice. My advice was don't ever try this u will regret.)

FISH CORDON BLEU

BRAISED LAMB SHANK "TOSCANA" (This is just so-so)

SPAGHETTI AL TONNO E FUNGHI with tuna & mushroom (This is just nice!)

THE BOTTOMLESS ICE-CREAM(BUFFET)
They basically served the flavour of Mint*****, Vanila, Cholcolate and Yam.
