Santorini Cafe

the front part of the cafe

Santorini, what a special name? Santorini is a volcanic island geographically located in the southern Aegean Sea. I thought its design should be all relate with volcano? =P Anyhow, its design layout is more to white snowy concept. It's located next to Little Cottage, Burma Road.

Here's the behind part of the cafe, Ring the bell if you need any assistance.

There are few cushion provided..
For you to hold, for you to fall asleep =P Feel yourself at home.

Realised most of its furniture being used are from Ikea - simple and nice concept.

Very familiar lamp? It's from Ikea too :)

There's some wall art too...

"Ding Ding, the food is ready!" :D from the kitchen

I thought this wall art should be larger than the assisting one instead,
might be even more eye-catching?

They served different variety of foods here. There are toasted bread, western food and different types of serving of rice and noodles.

Drink from RM2.50 onwards
Rice/Noodles/Western Food from RM 6.90 onwards
Toasted bread from RM2 onwards

Foods over here is okay, not really VERY impressive.
Nevertheless, this is a nice place to have a pleasant lunch/dinner, hanging out and have a long hours chit-chatting with friends.

Maybe in the next couple of months, this place will be crowded during lunch hours for those nearby working folks.
Somehow, it's so much better than Old Town. Lol...
I definately visit again.

Oh yah, not forgetting to mention the owner is very friendly :D

Coffee love Tea
RM3.50 (Cold) RM2.50 (Hot)

A 500ml coffee? =P Can sit there for long chat even for long hours :)
That's the greatest thing ever.

Honey Lemon Tea
RM4.50 (Cold) RM3.50 (Hot)

A pleasant cup of honey lemon, though didn't feel the aroma from the honey.
Hmm too sweet for me.

Kong Poh Mantis Prawn Rice RM6.90
Like the spiciness and the texture of the deep fried mantis prawn. Not bad!

Kong Poh Chicken Rice RM6.90
Outward appearance some wise need to improve.

Vintage Bulgaria (Part II) - Menu & Promotions

3 Course Set Dinner (Daily)

Here's how a set dinner looks like.

There 3 main course of your choices (from left) :-

1) Tatarsko Kyofte (200g) RM32
Traditional recipe of grilled seasoned mince pork stuffed with roast peppers, parsley and cheese.

2) Vegetarian Bulgarian Zapekanka (250g) RM26
Baked herbed potatoes, spinach, mozzarella and topped with egg in claypot.

3) Chicken Kiev (250g) RM32
Tender boneless chicken drumstick wrapped with around garlic butter, fried in breadcrumb till golden brown .

This is the my favourite set among the three choices. Taste like KFC's deep fried popcorn chicken for the first bite. However, I prefer this more as it's full of the sense of spices. Gosh, the usage of spices in cooking turn out to be so miracle, taste so delicious and so into the flavour!!

Bulgarian Sach (Sizzling Plate) 600g to be paired with Cabernet Sauvignon** RM49

Bulgarian traditional sizzling plate of grilled meats and vegetables that serves 2. It comes with tomatoes, sausages, meat slices and green chilis.

Initially i was trying noodles sizzling plates at all the time. This is my first time trying such a unique way of cook. Rather than the ordinary deep-fried sausages, this is the yummy "sizzling sausages". Slurp!! Still so in love with its spices recipe.

Love this another unique style of salad serving, so much different from the usual cabbage salad recipe. Spot the "white snow" scatter on the vegetables? It's the power of feta cheese. nom nom!

Vintage Bulgaria (Part I) - Overview

Here’s the 2nd food review invites sponsored by Round U Sdn Bhd - Vintage Bulgaria.

"Letter - Push !!" =D

Can you pronounce it correctly in Bulgarian?

Vintage Bulgaria was established in year 2008. It was owned by a Bulgarian family who living in Penang. Though the master chef is a Bulgarian, she trains the local chefs.

Now i know what does Bulgaria means. Yes, it's truly a country name =P
Bulgaria is one of the European country which next to Greece and Turkish.

That's what we ordered last year.

This is my 2nd visit here :D Was so excited when get to know that the next food review is here. My first visit was last year end, was falling love with its Spaghetti Bolognese at that time. Eventhough here's mainly Bulgarian food but not Italianese. Spaghetti Bolognese seems to be a very simple dish but surprisingly the chef was actually turned out the spaghetti into a very different way and indeed very delicious.

Evon in Bulgaria costume "Welcome to Vintage Bulgaria!! :) "

What’s actually Bulgaria’s food all about?

1) Mainly pork and beef (That’s the reason why I’m that lovin it, here goes my favourite pork)

2) Grilled and pan-fried (So called of less oily, healthy way of cook; rather than deep-fried)

3) Dry and cooked with spices (Here’s comes the quality of food and so into the taste of originality; rather than using onions, garlic, salt or even sugar)

4) Solid compare local food

Here are some of the interesting Bulgarian decoration :D
